My herofest is drawing to a close here on my blog, but not before we meet another hunk! Be sure to enter the giveaway & vote for your favorites, too! And now, here's Celia Breslin and her hero, Jake Marsden, from her book Under A Mating Moon.

Hi Everyone!

Nice to be back for another visit to Audra’s blog! I’ve brought Wolf shifter and Awesome Sauce DJ Jake Marsden with me today. He’s agreed to answer a few questions.

Celia:  Hi, Jake! Thanks for taking a break from your current DJ tour to join me chez Audra. First off, tell us: What’s your idea of the perfect date?

Jake:  I spend a lot of time in clubs, converted warehouses, and other performance venues, so when I’m off work, I like to spend time outdoors. I’m not much of a camper, so my perfect date would be dinner at a restaurant with outdoor seating, a conversation that didn’t involve talking about my work, a walk around town or the local park, then perhaps a soak in a hot tub, followed by… ::Jake shifts in his chair and shoots a crooked grin::

Celia:  Sounds lovely. What gift would you give your love for Valentine’s Day & why?

Jake:   I’m a DJ but also a classically trained pianist and composer, so I’d compose a song for my love. Music is the language of my heart, and a Valentine gift should always come from the heart.

Celia: Sounds perfect!  Speaking of perfection, what’s your greatest flaw?

Jake:  ::narrows his eyes::  I can hold a grudge for a very long time.

Celia: Yikes, remind me not to get on your bad side.  So then, what’s your greatest strength?

Jake: I’m an Alpha Wolf, so it’s in my nature to protect those who are weaker than myself.

Celia: You rock! Okay, last question… If they were to make a movie of your life, what genre would it be?

Jake: Since I’m a Wolf shifter, and one female has dominated my heart and thoughts for most of my life--even when we were apart--I’d have to say Paranormal Romance.

Celia:  Thanks for the chat, Jake. And on behalf of both of us, thank you Audra for hosting us today! Bye for now, everyone!

So glad to have you here! And now, more about Under A Mating Moon:

British Alpha wolf Jake Marsden spends his days among humans, pursuing a lucrative music career and avoiding his pack’s politics. When his current DJ tour takes him to the US, he stops in Los Lobos to visit family, and runs into the one Wolf he never wants to see again—the mate who rejected his claim.

While visiting her brother in Los Lobos, free-spirited Lexi Luparell is shocked to encounter the Wolf she’d denied when they were teens. Now she must face her guilt for the cruel way she spurned him all those years ago, make amends, and admit the truth. Jake was right all along—they’re meant to mate.

Lexi would love to explore the mate concept and her overwhelming attraction to virile, alpha Wolf Jake, but he wants nothing to do with her. How can she break down his defenses when she’s the reason he built them in the first place?

Jake dates only human women now. Lexi had her shot at being his mate, and she threw it away. But when her life is threatened, he may have to rethink his position and do whatever it takes to claim his one true mate.

Under A Mating Moon is #27 in a multi-author, shared world series: Black Hills Wolves, by Decadent Publishing.  It is a stand-alone read (no prior reading in series required).

JP Lundstrom's Sandy

2/24/2016

Picture
The herofest is still going strong here on my blog! Speaking of strong, let's hear from our latest hero, from Adventures of a Young Girl by J P Lundstrom.

Alexander Buchanan (known as Sandy to his friends) is Roberta Blevins’ best friend in Adventures of a Young Girl. He’s her constant companion in high school, seeing her through some very tough times. He’s her coworker, her steady date, and her shoulder to cry on. But what he isn’t, she insists, is her boyfriend. Let’s hear his thoughts.

Tell us, Sandy, what’s your idea of the perfect date?

First of all, she’d have to be a girl I really cared about. I never dated until I met Roberta; she was my first date, and I guess I messed up. I was really nervous and afterward, she wouldn’t go out with me again. But we got back together later on. She’s a beautiful girl and she loves to dance, so I’ve taken her to a lot of dances. We’ve had a lot of study dates, but my favorite way to spend a date is holding her in my arms and kissing her. I love the way she goes all soft and cuddly.

What gift would you give your love for Valentine’s Day & why?

You’ve got to keep your ears and eyes open all year long. You can’t just buy a girl a box of candy--that’s thoughtless. If you’ve been listening to her, you know what she really likes, or maybe she’s told you her secret wish. That’s what you give her. It means something to her, because she knows you’ve been paying attention and you care.

What’s your greatest flaw?

My greatest flaw is not being able to express how I feel. I wasn’t able to express to my dad and granddad what I wanted to do with my life. They forced me into a life I never wanted, and I had to leave everything behind. If I had been able to tell them what I really wanted, things might have been different.

What’s your greatest strength?

Well, I’m pretty strong physically, but I don’t think that’s what you mean. People don’t say much about this unless you’re a Marine, but I’d have to say it’s my dedication. When I find something that’s worth going after, I’ll move heaven and earth to get it and keep it.

If they were to make a movie of your life, what genre would it be?

(laughs) I guess it would have to be action-adventure. First to show all the trouble I used to get into and the many times I ran away from home as a kid, then my work at the Double L with the horses, and then the years of my military career. Sounds exciting, doesn’t it?

Absolutely! Here's more about Adventures of a Young Girl:

It’s 1957, and Roberta Blevins is just about done with the eighth grade. She’s ready to grow up. She has big plans for her life, and she needs lots of information.  What she really want to know about is S-E-X, and sixteen-year-old Carl is happy to oblige. And that’s just her first adventure!

She’s got a long way to go from Rockdale, Texas to Hollywood, California and the Pacific Ocean, but she’s bound and determined to get there. On the way, she’ll have a ton of adventures and get to know a lot of people. Everybody loves Roberta—she’s cute, fun and irrepressible.

And along the way, she’ll learn that not all adventures are happy—some are dangerous, deadly and discouraging. Join Roberta on her quest to get to Hollywood and the movies and to fulfill her lifelong desires.

Susan Stec's Gaire

2/21/2016

The herofest continues here on my blog! Today Susan Stec's hot hero, Gaire, is stopping by. Don't forget to enter the giveaway!

USA Today and Amazon bestselling author

An interview with PURGATORY'S Hunky Hot Guy,

GAIRE

A Wendigo half-breed, an abomination,  Gaire runs from a race that wants him dead. He can't fight what he is—they won't let him forget what he's done.

What’s your idea of the perfect date?

There is no perfect date for me. If I wasn't a halfbreed I would be allowed to mate with a Wendigo female, the only creature that would remain alive after becoming intimate with me.

If dreams come true, and you found the perfect love, what gift would you give he for Valentine’s Day & why?

Loyalty, trust, undying love, and the freedom to be who she is. Because that woman, in herself, would be a very special gift to me.

What’s your greatest flaw?

The beast inside of me. It's dark, deadly, and hard to control.

What’s your greatest strength? Not being what I was born to be.

Being able to isolate, carry on a human facade and live from day to day without giving in to the animal inside of me, begging to be released with every breath I take.

If they were to make a movie of your life, what genre would it be?

Paranormal Horror

An excerpt from the book:

GAIRE: As she slowly walks toward me I can smell desire. Not human desire, a musky, animalistic desire—essential, dark, and demanding. Her blouse comes off first and she tosses it at my feet, steps out of her cutoffs, and stands before me in a triangle of black lace.
Our eyes lock. I feel hair on my neck prickle as my spine shifts and mouth salivates; heart hammering, jaw tightening, I bend and pick up her clothes. She's a breath away, waiting, feet parted, lace riding fingers as she runs them over her hips. I grit my teeth and place the clothes in between pink breasts framed in rich tanned skin; when my knuckles connect with soft creamy flesh my body tightens, prickles another warning, and it's all I can do to keep from taking her right there.
 ***
A is a myth with no name, no flesh, no sex, and no identity... Unless I wear one of  you.

DOPPELGANGER: (wearing CeCe) I can hear his heartbeat; I feel the heat of his gaze, the strength behind his touch. Crap! My head is spinning—my head, not the human's I'm wearing. I never do this. I amuse myself and let them do the dreaming, the what-if's, and get off on that. I don't contemplate commitment, relationships, love! I just get my high on. I trade them their lives for a quick fix.
Damn it, sex with this guy is not going to be a quick fix. I want...
I realize I'm grabbing for my clothes before they fall to the floor, and he's stepping back, shaking his head. What the hell?
Sexy laugh, body to die for, and eyes to get lost in, he intrigues me, attracts me, and churns up feelings I've never felt before. But Gaire turns out to be the ultimate bad boy.

Joyce Proell's Doyle Flanagan

2/17/2016

Picture
Hi! I’m Joyce Proell, and I write historical romance and mystery.

I’m delighted to be here today. Thanks, Audra, for hosting.

Joining me today is one of the lead characters of my ‘Truth’ series. My hunky hero is Doyle Flanagan, a self-made millionaire living in Chicago of 1881. While solving the odd murder caper, he doggedly pursues his love interest, the spirited Cady Delafield.

Just to set the record straight, the word hunk or hunky wasn’t used in the 1880’s to portray a sexy, attractive man. More often hunk denoted a side of beef—literally. In those times, a woman might say a man was striking or devilishly handsome. He might be bold and fierce. Or seductive. Tempting. Desirable. All these labels fit Doyle.

As I say this, he’s frowning. In spite of all his achievements—his success in business and his generosity to those less fortunate, he’s terribly humble. But please, let’s allow him to speak for himself. Here are a few questions.

Doyle, what’s your idea of a perfect man?

Personal perfection doesn’t exist. I recognized this early on, and didn’t spin my wheels trying to attain the unachievable. What’s important is integrity. Give a man character, and he will go far, exceeding the bounds of mediocrity and petty society.

What would you give your love for Valentine’s Day?

I regret to say, I’ve only known Cady Delafield for six months. February was not one of those months. However, my love is a woman who inspires romance. I couldn’t help but surprise her with small tokens of affection. A book of poems by Keats, a silk scarf, chocolates, cookies—yes, she has a sweet tooth. A sapphire and diamond engagement ring brought her to tears. Ha! She didn’t see that one coming! Yet by far, she says her favorite gifts were all the personally written love notes included with each present. She’s kept each one, locked away in a box tied with a ribbon, treasures to be cherished forever.

What’s your greatest flaw?

Flaw? Pardon me while I smile. It’s been suggested I spend too many hours at work. My reply: One never gets to the top of the mountain without great sacrifice and work.

What’s your greatest strength?

Confidence. Though my detractors call it arrogance. Living without fear of failure allows me to forge ahead, sometimes recklessly, but always with the belief that I can succeed so long as I try and keep striving.

Thank you, Doyle, for your candid answers. And thank you readers for joining us today.

JS Marlo's Mr. Blythe Huxley

2/14/2016

Tina Turner was wrong, we DO need another hero! And we're in luck, because author JS Marlo is here to interview the leading man from her novel, Unscripted.

JS: Today I have the pleasure of introdu
cing a talented and ruggedly handsome actor, one of the leading men of Wild Rescue, the popular television series featuring the lives and tribulations of a search and rescue team. Please, welcome Mr. Blythe Huxley.

BH: Thank you. It's a pleasure to be here and to sit in the hot chair... I think.

JS: (chuckles) I'll try not to ask hard or embarrassing questions, but our readers would love to know what is your idea of a perfect date. Ever went on a perfect date, Blythe?

BH: (clearing throat) Yes... more than a few times. You know, the perfect date is very much like the perfect recipe. It contains all the right ingredients in the right amount. It feeds the stomach, the heart, and the soul.

JS: You're making me hungry, Blythe. Keep going.

BH: It starts with the perfect woman. From experience, I can tell you such a creature indeed exists. I invite her to a romantic dinner between 6:30 & 7:30 at night. Now, the time is important. I always give her enough time to get ready, but not too much so that she gets too hungry. I want her to think of me, not of her growling stomach.

JS: This is already romantic and we haven't even arrived to the restaurant yet.

BH: We're almost there. I take her to a charming Italian restaurant downtown Winnipeg. It's my favorite place. As soon as we step in, we experience sensory overload. The sweet and spicy aroma teases our noses as it tantalizes our taste buds. The dim ceiling lights and the candles on the table spark intimacy and intrigue, but not to the point it obscures our delicious meals. And the music... (dreamy sigh) Timeless slow songs throughout the evening envelop us like a warm breeze on a summer night. Soft enough that we can have a lovely and quiet conversation, but loud enough that when I take her on the dance floor and hold her close, I can hear the lyrics and whisper the words in her ear.

JS: Oh my... (swooning) I'm jealous. Now I'm almost afraid to ask what you would give your love for Valentine's Day, and why.

BH: I would start with a romantic dinner then I would give her a day at the spa. Why? Because every woman deserves to be totally and utterly pampered from time to time.

JS: I knew I'd regret asking. May I trade you for my husband?

BH: (hearty laughs) I doubt my wife would approve.

JS: In this case, I'll ask you a question that will hopefully make me feel better. What's your biggest flaw?

BH: Let's see... I have lots of little adorable flaws...

JS: I see that's a hard question, Blythe, so let me rephrase. What would your wife say your biggest flaw was?

BH: Well, she'd probably say I hold grudges like a mad dog hold on to his bone, but I don't think I'm that bad.

JS: Really? I may have to trust your wife on that one. What about your greatest strength? I guess we already know it's not forgiveness.

BH: It's probably caring. I'm pretty sure my wife would agree. She might even say that sometimes, I care too much.

JS: Caring is good. So, if someone were to make a movie of your life, what genre would it be?

BH: It would definitely be a drama, a tragic drama, but where hope, courage, and love prevail at the end.

JS: Our readers love happy endings, so I think we'll part on this. Thank you, Blythe. It was a pleasure.

BH: Pleasure was mine. Please send my salutations to your readers.

Paula Kennedy's Darcy

Another hero has arrived here on my blog! Welcome Darcy, one of Wallace triplets from Paula Kennedy's Angels of the Night series.

Hey! Thanks so much for having me. It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these things so go easy on me.

I was quite intrigued to find out you’re an identical triplet. I’m sure you get this a lot, but are you and your brothers truly identical?

We do get this a lot but I don’t mind answering. The three of us are of the same height and build and our facial features are very similar, but it’s hard for me because I think we all look different. (takes a quick sip of water) Allison likes to point out that we also share a lot of the same mannerisms but I think she’s teasing. She’s convinced my brothers and I have the exact same raised eyebrow. (lifts right eyebrow to demonstrate) If that’s true, then I wear it the best. As far as coloring goes, Thane and I are identical with blonde hair and brown eyes. Robert, on the other hand, has deep brown hair and brown eyes. Our closest friends say we’re identical, but I see a lot of differences.

Would you like share some of those differences?

Maybe we should save that for another interview. (grins). In all seriousness, our hairline differs a bit, Thane’s and mine are closer than Robert, and there are a few freckles in different places. Stuff like that.
(yelling from the back of the room) Don’t forget to tell them you’re the ugliest.
(leans forward in his chair, smiling) Who let Thane in here? (winks)

Are you and your brothers close?

That’s a tough question. It’s been a rough road what with Jonas, and I’d rather not get into the details if you don’t mind. You can become intimately acquainted with our struggles in the Angels of the Night series. I don’t want to give too much away for those that haven’t read it, but I think we might be okay now. If you’re really interested in seeing how our relationship has developed check out Angels of the Night: Deception coming out in June 2016.

What’s your idea of the perfect date?

These questions aren’t getting any easier. (runs hands through hair) The perfect date is pretty much anything with Allison. (winks) I need to keep raking in those brownie points you know. (glances around) She isn’t in the building is she? Seriously though, I love quiet nights in. Hit me up with a movie, drinks and cuddling on the couch. It doesn’t get any more perfect than that.

What gift would you give your love for Valentine’s Day & why?

I’d say flowers and chocolates but I think that’s a cop out for guys that don’t know what to buy their lady. Finding a unique gift is tough but I like to cater to the girl I’m with. Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve purchased my fair share of flowers but tend to stay away from buying them on Valentine’s Day. So in answer, it depends on who you’re with and what they like. (leans forward) If you’re desperate, though, go with jewelry. Women love jewelry.

What gift did you buy Allison last year?

(shifts in his seat and glances around) Am I even allowed to talk about this? (wink) I think for my own safety I better keep that one to myself.

What’s your greatest flaw?

(scratches ear and takes a drink of water) I get a little passionate about things sometimes. That gets me in a lot of crap.

What’s your greatest strength?

I get a little passionate about things sometimes. (laughs) Seriously though, I know I can be intense, ask one of my brothers and they’ll confirm that for you.

Thanks for stopping by today.

I had a great time. Thanks for having me! Don’t forget to get your copy of the third Angels of the Night coming out at the beginning of June.

Here's more about Angels of the Night: Discovery (Book 1):

Allison Webber is tired of looking over her shoulder. Stalked by shadows for her entire life, she embraces the invitation to join a secret society hiding the existence of vampires. Things heat up quickly in this all male cult when she catches the eyes of two sexy vampire twins, Thane and Darcy Wallace. Amid steamy encounters with the identical twins competing for her attention, Allison learns her mission is to aid a select group of vampires, the Angels of the Night, as they hunt and destroy the females of their species. Completely taken with the brothers and her new role, she fails to see that one of the twins has been using her. Allison must delve deep within herself for the courage to save the brother she loves and destroy the one who betrayed her.

Colleen S. Myer's Marin

2/7/2016

Picture
"This is Audra Middleton about to interview, Marin from Must Remember.  Hello Marin."

Marin sits straight in the chair across from her at the cafe, his back to the wall, and inclines his head. He seems unusually preoccupied with his coffee, swirling the straw precisely ten times in the hot liquid. Without looking up, he says, "Hello Audra, Elizabeth asked me to speak with you."

Audra raises an eyebrow. Chivalry is dead.  She pulls out her own chair and sits across from him taking his measure.  Rude but yummy with those light brown eyes he doesn't seem to want to show her.  "Yes, Beta, she was born on Earth like me."

He raise his cup and takes a cautious sip. "Yes."

This is going to be fun.  Audra straightens. "The reason I wanted to talk to you is about Valentine's Day."

"What is Valentine's day?"

"It is a day to celebrate, well, love. Show appreciation for your woman."

Marin's eyes gleam when he looks at her finally. "I like the idea of this Valentine's Day."

With a start, she notices the slit eyes first and the sharp, angular face, humanoid but not. Thank heavens Beta warned her he was Fost and not human, those eyes pack quite the punch.  Where was she? "Um, girls do too!  What do you think you will get Beta, err, I mean Elizabeth?"

He blows on the coffee, his lips spreading into a small smile. "I think we will spend the day in bed and I will show her how much I appreciate her. Then maybe we will eat and swim.  A lazy day is perfect. Too many times we do not have time to relax."

Typical man. Audra smiles. "That sounds great. You could also work on some of the things she doesn't like about you."

He stiffens and puts his mug down carefully. "What do you mean, does not like?"

Hrm, maybe she chose the wrong tactic and just when he'd began to relax too. "Well you know, things that anger her."

"Elizabeth loves me, she knows everything I do is for her."

Right. "That sounds like you are dedicated to her, but what annoys her about you?"

Marin taps his fingers on the table once then curls his fingers into a fist. "Sometimes she does say that I push her too hard to get my own way."

No doubt. Sheesh. "But everything you do is to protect her, right?"

Marin nods.  His glance changes from his coffee to stare at her straight on, eyes never wavering. "Yes, now and always."

Audra shifts in her seat. "So-"

Marin raises his head and stares into the rafters at who knows what. "Elizabeth needs me now. We will talk another time."

With a speed Audra hadn't imagined possible, Marin bows and darts to the front of the room, soon lost from sight.

Well that was odd.

Anyway, here's more about Must Remember:
Nineteen-year-old Elizabeth ‘Beta’ Camden is a survivor.

When the E’mani—those pale alien freaks—destroy Earth with a plague of madness and scoop up the remains, Beta is one of the ‘lucky’ ones. For years, she endures their tortures, experiments and games. Then one day, she manages to escape their ship with her life, and no memory of her time with them.

Stranded on their world, Beta wanders the mountains, looking for a way home. She stumbles onto the Fost—the E’mani’s ancient enemy. Their war with the Imani is old and rooted in magic that the Fost once had and the Imani crave. Magic Beta soon discovers she’s developing along with strange tattoos and disturbing glimpses of her past. The Fost take her in and train her in their ways. As she spends more time with them, she falls in love with their culture and with Marin—he of the hot hands and slit eyes.

But the E’mani took her for a reason and they want her back—dead or alive. If Beta doesn’t remember that reason soon, they’re all going to die.

Holly Hunt's Phil Donhowi

It's raining men here on my blog! And they're giving away books! Be sure to vote for your favorites & enter the giveaway. But first, let's hear from Holly Hunt's leading man, Phil Donhowi, from her novek, The Holiday Killer.

Welcome, to my blog, Mr. Donhowi. Tell us, what’s your idea of the perfect date?
A day out with my wife, where no one dies. I'd take her out shopping, to the movies, then grab our son Jamie and go home for a hot meal and a snuggle.

Yes, it's always best when no one dies. So, what gift would you give your love for Valentine’s Day & why?
A beautiful necklace she could wear at work. Nothing like a bit of pretty to make her life as a cop that little bit easier.

Now tell us something about yourself. What’s your greatest flaw?
I'm easily manipulated. In high school, I was pressured into going out drinking every weekend, and I did. Still haven't quite recovered from those hangovers.

And what’s your greatest strength?
I love my family. There's nothing in the world that gives me more joy than seeing Jamie come home from school, Liz come home from work, and the three of us sit down to watch a movie. I'd do anything for them.

If they were to make a movie of your life, what genre would it be?
A movie? God, no one wants to see that movie. It'd be a horror-thriller with no sense of style, but a few warm moments here and there to keep you thinking everything's going to be all right...

Sounds intriguing! Here's more about The Holiday Killer:

Around the world, Christmas Eve is a time of joy, hope and new beginnings, where children open presents, parents smile, and all is right with the world.
Except in Matryville.
Holidays are dreaded, rather than anticipated. A killer is on the loose, and he strikes as parents hide their kids, fearing the bogeyman’s wrath…
Liz Rhodes, Special Detective at the Matryville Central Police Department, is heading the investigation of the Holiday Killer. She’s close on his tail, a suspect in her grasp…
… and then her son is taken.
Will Liz be able to track down the Killer before it’s too late? Or will Jamie pay the price for her arrogance? Only time will tell...

February is about to be filled with hot heroes from some rockin' romance novels. Vote for your favorites and enter to win some great ebooks! My first leading man is Keir, from book one of Pippa Jay's Redemption series.

Tell us, Keir, what’s your idea of the perfect date?

To be alone with my ahmiri on our island, wrapped in each other's arms with just the sound of the sea and the warm wind in the trees for company as we watch the sun set and the moon rise over the sea.

Sounds lovely! And what gift would you give your love for Valentine’s Day & why?

What is Valentine's Day? I should buy her a gift? From where? *panics* Do you think she would be happy if I picked an armful of her favourite flowers from the island?

I'm sure she would love them. Now, tell us more about you. What would you say is your greatest flaw?

I doubt myself, my abilities, or that I deserve or merit any love or kindness.

And what’s your greatest strength?

My loyalty. I will defend those I love and respect to my dying breath.

If they were to make a movie of your life, what genre would it be?

Movie? *consults archives* ah, you would call it science fiction perhaps?

Sounds like some great Sci Fi to me! Here's more about Keir:

A demon waiting to die...

An outcast reviled for his discolored skin and rumors of black magic, Keirlan de Corizi sees no hope for redemption. Imprisoned beneath the palace that was once his home, the legendary 'Blue Demon of Adalucien' waits for death to finally free him of his curse. But salvation comes in an unexpected guise.

A woman determined to save him.
Able to cross space and time with a wave of her hand, Tarquin Secker has spent eternity on a hopeless quest. Drawn by a compulsion she can't explain, she risks her apparent immortality to save Keir, and offers him sanctuary on her home-world, Lyagnius. But Quin has secrets of her own.

When Keir mistakenly unleashes the dormant alien powers within him and earns exile from Lyagnius, Quin chooses to stand by him. Can he master his newfound abilities in time to save Quin from the darkness that seeks to possess her?

Book One of the Redemption series and part of the Travellers Universe. Previously released by Lyrical Press Inc. 7th May 2012
