Tina Turner was wrong, we DO need another hero! And we're in luck, because author JS Marlo is here to interview the leading man from her novel, Unscripted.

JS: Today I have the pleasure of introdu
cing a talented and ruggedly handsome actor, one of the leading men of Wild Rescue, the popular television series featuring the lives and tribulations of a search and rescue team. Please, welcome Mr. Blythe Huxley.

BH: Thank you. It's a pleasure to be here and to sit in the hot chair... I think.

JS: (chuckles) I'll try not to ask hard or embarrassing questions, but our readers would love to know what is your idea of a perfect date. Ever went on a perfect date, Blythe?

BH: (clearing throat) Yes... more than a few times. You know, the perfect date is very much like the perfect recipe. It contains all the right ingredients in the right amount. It feeds the stomach, the heart, and the soul.

JS: You're making me hungry, Blythe. Keep going.

BH: It starts with the perfect woman. From experience, I can tell you such a creature indeed exists. I invite her to a romantic dinner between 6:30 & 7:30 at night. Now, the time is important. I always give her enough time to get ready, but not too much so that she gets too hungry. I want her to think of me, not of her growling stomach.

JS: This is already romantic and we haven't even arrived to the restaurant yet.

BH: We're almost there. I take her to a charming Italian restaurant downtown Winnipeg. It's my favorite place. As soon as we step in, we experience sensory overload. The sweet and spicy aroma teases our noses as it tantalizes our taste buds. The dim ceiling lights and the candles on the table spark intimacy and intrigue, but not to the point it obscures our delicious meals. And the music... (dreamy sigh) Timeless slow songs throughout the evening envelop us like a warm breeze on a summer night. Soft enough that we can have a lovely and quiet conversation, but loud enough that when I take her on the dance floor and hold her close, I can hear the lyrics and whisper the words in her ear.

JS: Oh my... (swooning) I'm jealous. Now I'm almost afraid to ask what you would give your love for Valentine's Day, and why.

BH: I would start with a romantic dinner then I would give her a day at the spa. Why? Because every woman deserves to be totally and utterly pampered from time to time.

JS: I knew I'd regret asking. May I trade you for my husband?

BH: (hearty laughs) I doubt my wife would approve.

JS: In this case, I'll ask you a question that will hopefully make me feel better. What's your biggest flaw?

BH: Let's see... I have lots of little adorable flaws...

JS: I see that's a hard question, Blythe, so let me rephrase. What would your wife say your biggest flaw was?

BH: Well, she'd probably say I hold grudges like a mad dog hold on to his bone, but I don't think I'm that bad.

JS: Really? I may have to trust your wife on that one. What about your greatest strength? I guess we already know it's not forgiveness.

BH: It's probably caring. I'm pretty sure my wife would agree. She might even say that sometimes, I care too much.

JS: Caring is good. So, if someone were to make a movie of your life, what genre would it be?

BH: It would definitely be a drama, a tragic drama, but where hope, courage, and love prevail at the end.

JS: Our readers love happy endings, so I think we'll part on this. Thank you, Blythe. It was a pleasure.

BH: Pleasure was mine. Please send my salutations to your readers.

Here's more about Unscripted:
"Shaped by fire. Bound by duty. Driven by love." Riley's tumultuous life rivals the television scripts she writes for Wild Rescue.
***
After a bullet shatters his world, actor Blythe Huxley befriends Riley Kendrick, a new writer on the television show Wild Rescue, never expecting to discover a kindred spirit.
No stranger to tragedy, Riley lends a compassionate ear to Blythe's difficulties and soon becomes entangled in a web of illicit affairs and deadly intrigue.
When an arsonist and a killer both strike, Riley's fate intertwines with Blythe's, and her life and her heart hang in the balance. Will they be able to protect their past? And save their future?
